Jesus Coba

Jesus Coba was born & raised in San Francisco’s Mission District & Hunters Point. He’s worked with systems impacted youth for over 15 years in Bayview Hunters Point, Mission District & Oakland, CA. From workforce development, case management, court advocacy to organizing around social justice, he has a strong background in the community health field. He has held positions such as Case Manager, Intervention Specialist, Life Skills Coach & Program Director. The majority of Jesus’s organizing experience stems from working with impacted families of police terrorism & police accountability.

Although a lot of his work is through different community organizations throughout the Bay Area, a great amount of his experience is through grassroots movements & organizing. This diverse wealth of experienced has formed Jesus into the organizer he is today. Another unique strength & experience he brings to CURYJ is his digital organizing experience. He has a solid background in managing social media pages around organizing & art to create awareness & help mobilize through modern technology. Jesus is also formerly incarcerated & has endured police brutality, but has persevered & now helps people in similar situations. 

Jesus is a compassionate person with a genuine love for his Indigenous roots, his people & pushes for liberation of our people and Black & Brown Unity. He documents our people’s struggle & cultura with his camera, he empowers the youth & his community. He fights to make a positive change for his people that is centered around alternatives to policing & ending mass incarceration, while inspiring people with his art. Jesus strives to educate our people on the intersectionality in our struggles & spread awareness on how our path to freedom is interconnected.
