Jacy Bowles

Jacy Bowles a dedicated researcher, advocate, and creative committed to the fight against imperialist systems that exploit our communities—both human and more-than-human. With a background in climate justice, community justice, and immigrant rights, she pushes towards collective transformation informed by community-driven research and local organizing.

Jacy holds a B.A. in Sociology from San Francisco State and an M.A. in Community, Liberation, Indigenous, and Eco-Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Jacy’s research focuses on sustainable resistance and regenerative movements, centering traditional knowledge and holistic wellbeing as essential to collective liberation.

She holds firm that unity is key – our liberation is inextricably bound to one another’s. But, to do work towards collective liberation we must work from a place that centers “protecting the protectors” through reinforcing sovereignty for indigenous peoples, land rematriation, and autonomy within urban communities of color—fostering ways of life that honor and restore our relationship with each other and the earth.
